$100. Some might say that Lyrical Abstraction is the same as Abstract Expressionism but it isn't. One of the differences is that Lyrical pieces emphasize color over shape. In this workshop- I have a slideshow with some great information from this art movement, information on color and examples of Lyrical Abstract Artists’ work. We’ll go crazy on our pieces in a very relaxed but quick way kind of like Simon says….. or Susan says :) This is a fun experiment and I think you’ll be surprised at the results!

Materials Fee $10paid to instructor at beginning of class includes:

various items specific to your piece….. I’ll be walking the room as you work for feedback and will introduce surprise items as needed. Surprises may include a fineliner with High Flow, gold leaf or other shinies, unique collage materials, mark making tools, pencils, oil sticks…hand painted papers from my collection. Texture paste and templates.

Supplies Needed to bring for Class:

2 substrates 12x12” or something comparable
Your acrylic set, brushes, palette knife, rags, water container
Gel Medium (whatever you have) I’ll be using Regular Gel Matte
Blow dryer or heat tool if you have one
