$170 Design, Texture, Glazing, Embedding, Paint Skins, Knife Painting, Layering, Tone on Tone, Paper Making and Assemblage….. Just a few of the techniques I’ll walk you through in this fun step by step workshop. It’s a relaxed workshop where you’ll integrate your own colors and style to create a fabulous abstract piece layer by layer one step at a time. I’ll guide you through each step. Even if you’ve never tried abstracts before you’ll end with something ready for the wall. You’ll also now know exactly how to redeem that old painting or collage that “didn’t quite work out”.

$25 materials fee includes use of some unique GOLDEN Grounds, Pastes and Gels, a collage pack with handmade papers selection and paint skins, palette knife.

Supplies needed for class:

3 or more canvases or wood panels as big as you can fit in your suitcase. You can work on a heavy water color paper also and mount it on a panel later if you like.  The substrates can be old paintings or collages that you don’t like- we will redeem them!

Your acrylic set (I’ll be using GOLDEN Fluids, Heavy Body and Transparent High Flow Acrylics)

Your favorite brushes 

Any stabile, colored pencils, markers, crayons or other mark making  materials you already have 

Water container, baby wipes, paper towels

Hair dryer 

Gel Medium (I’ll be using GOLDEN Soft Gel Matte/Matte Medium)

Scissors

Any paper punches you already have (I’m using circles and ovals in different sizes)

Any collage papers you already have- do you have a stack of Gel Press prints somewhere? They are perfect for this.
