Each artist will show techniques personal to them and share with you their thoughts and techniques. Sharing can help you develop your voice and allow your inner artist to emerge as you expand your art journaling ideas and concepts.

Get to know the artists:
Week 1 - Collage
Susan will show you how she makes her own collage papers using a limited palette, GOLDEN Paints, coffee filters and a Gel Press. Next, some inspiration for shapes and suggestions for cutting and assembling the papers in our journals.
Week 2 - Gel Plate Mono Printing
Micah will show you how easy it is to get beautiful imagery without the necessity of drawing skills. We will use GelPress gel plates and GOLDEN fluid acrylics for goof proof mono printing that give any journal page that ”wow’ factor.
Week 3 - Gesso Resist Techniques
In this session Jacqueline Sullivan will show you how to use gesso as a resist for subtle backgrounds in your Art Journal. The gesso will be applied with stamps or through stencils and then painted over with fluid acrylics. The paint will be prepared so that it creates a good writing surface in your journal.
Week 4 - Water-soluble and mixed media in the Art journal
Helen will show you the versatility of watercolor pencils using acrylic mediums and watercolor in her journal. The stencil used is Helen ́s own design.
Week 5 - Hand Lettering for Art Journaling
Diane Stum Fekete will help you explore a variety of letter styles, approaches and materials for hand lettering, so that you can incorporate more hand lettering into your art journals with greater creativity and increased confidence.
